Third stage accommodation

ARA manages 10 third stage self contained flats on behalf of Knightstone Housing Association, and a 10 bed shared house on behalf of Stonham Housing Association. Clients, having completed the Residential Programme may be able to move into one of 4 one bedroomed flats, 6 studio apartments or the shared house. It is anticipated that clients will stay in the accommodation for up to 1 year, providing an excellent opportunity to continue their recovery and the transition to independent living with the diversity of support that ARA can offer.

All clients in the third stage accommodation receive aftercare support, including one to one counselling. A fortnightly group facilitated by a Counsellor and a Housing Support Officer offers additional support to share and discuss the range of issues arising from living independently, maintaining abstinence, having a meaningful structure to the week. In addition to a weekly meeting with a Housing Support Officer, clients have access to ARA's dedicated Independence in Recovery Centre. Here, they can use the facilities to access learning and work development support, weekly relapse prevention groups and generally socialise with other people in recovery.
