ARA’s North Somerset Service
ARA North Somerset is a specialist drug and alcohol service based at 38 Boulevard and 31 Alexandra Parade , Weston-super-Mare. We have a satellite services at both Bourneville and Portishead on a Friday.
We have 20 employees and 10 volunteers offering the following range of services:
Day care service which includes a Preparation Stage, Structured Day Care Programme and a Relapse Prevention Service;
Needle exchange with harm minimisation advice, blood borne virus support and motivational links to the core service; for more
Overdose Prevention Training aimed at highlighting your risk aimed at helping you prevent overdose; for more click here

Community Care Assessments for people needing residential treatment;
Acudetox – a free service offering ear acupuncture. for more click here
ARCH – Alcohol Outreach
This is a new service in 6 locations in North Somerset for people who have problems with alcohol. for more click here
Drug Intervention Programme (DIP)
The North Somerset service provides the following services for clients involved with the Criminal Justice system:
Drug Arrest Referral;
Prison Resettlement including wrap around services;
Development of structured group, mentoring, education, training and employment opportunities;
1 to1 counselling and care planning services;
Management of statutory orders such as DTTO’s, DRR’s and DIR
